On this page, I will introduce remote display with
PIC16F873.
The asynchronous communication function (USART) of PIC16F873 is used for this equipment. The information
which is set with the control unit is displayed on the large-sized
display installed in the about 10-m left place using the cable. The
size of the displaying unit has 25-cm height, 40-cm width. It is not
so large size.
This equipment is made to
inform the people who gather to the church about the number of the
hymn. So, the contents to display are limited to three kinds of
fixed form letters and the 3-digit figure. Red LEDs with 5-mm
diameter are used for the displaying of a letter and large-sized 7
segment LEDs are used for the digit display. It is made simple
composition by considering that it is easy to see and cost
performance. An LED matrix which is used recently isn't
used.
Also, to make it easy to see displaying
letters from the distant place, a purple acrylic board is used for
the displaying
